What we do

What we do

Digital Skills for All

At Digital Skills Academy we believe computers are for everyone and no-one should be left out. Through the support and funding of the Scottish Government’s People and Communities Fund and working in partnership with 7 housing associations across Edinburgh, we are able to deliver a wide range of support;

Digital Skills for Beginners

Get started with the basics in small classes in a friendly environment and get the skills and confidence to join the digital world.

Use IT

The programme will help unemployed people develop a basic understanding of computers. It helps them learn the essential skills to begin computing with confidence, be more productive at home and at work, and consider careers where they can put their skills to work.

Learn everything from how to switch a computer on and how the keyboard works to sending emails and searching for jobs. We help people to learn in a warm and friendly atmosphere with individual support from our experienced trainers and our team of volunteers.

The Use IT programme combines two basic training modules:

– Introduction to the computing environment covering core IT skills

– Practical job search skills for job hunting including use of job search engines, online CVs, online network, social networking and application forms

Centres are located across Edinburgh including Leith, North Edinburgh, Wester Hailes and Gilmerton. To find the nearest centre and to book a place contact us today.
